GMHA Meeting Feb 15/11

Present: Sandy Crosby, Cindy Staels, Eddie Gould, Marilyn Gosnell, Scott Purbrick, Cheryl Murray.

Regrets: Bob Thirlwall, Jeff Tidball, Tim Kunkel.

Guests: Sam Katsoulakos, Darryl Murray, 3 from Bothwell Minor Hockey, 1 from West Lorne Minor Hockey.

Bothwell Minor Hockey is looking to amalgamate with Glencoe and/or West Lorne or shut down their organization. West Lorne came to the meeting looking for information. Cindy Staels said that this would need to be done by the May OMHA AGM. The first year would be on a trial basis. Proposed meeting if boards agree. West Lorne is meeting next week and will discuss at their meeting. See what comes from their meeting and go from there.

- Sam Katsolakos is interested in helping out with the website. Getting in contact with Bob Pearson.

Treasurers Report

- Bingo account is at $18,500

- Nevada account is at $9,563

- General account is at $60,135

- Term investment is up also.

- Gate is a big change over last year but should come close to last year by the end of the year.

- Brian has moved fundraising for Dance and Women’s game

- Shopping cards are down about $2,000

- Dream draw money is down but we have to send in tickets to get a credit.

- Ice rental is going to be about the same or slightly less.

- January ice bill is going to come from the Bingo account.

$100 requested from the Lazco family. They have been given $400 of $700 paid. $700 is because of the late fee. He is not entitled to the late fee being returned.

League Reports

OMHA/shamrock – Cindy

- Scheduling meeting was February 14^th.

- All teams eliminated from OMHA play downs except Novice.

- April 2^nd is all star game

- Protest cheque against Lambton shores is back. Protest dismissed.

- Dodge caravan kids sponsor cheque received.

- All games will be played by March 31.

-some plaques from last year have been handed back, a few of them are still




outstanding




-medal have been ordered and will be given to the Novice C, Novice and Atom




teams along with mini sticks




-skate towels were awarded to the following for finishing as TCHL Season




Champions in their respective divisions




 Novice - Glencoe (I gave Roland the skate towels already)




 Atom - Ridgetown #2




 Pee Wee - Blenheim #2




 Bantam - Dresden Maroon




 Midget - Dresden White




-all regular season games have been played and all scores have been




accounted for




-trophies (for playoffs) have been agreed upon and have been ordered

- Problem with embroider and ordering. $1,000 of inventory to sell and socks in stock also.
Development – Eddie
 
- Eddie emailed Greg Knight to see if he is interested in any sort of a program for skating next year.
 
Ways and Means – 
- Money from Southwest Middlesex for Women’s game given to Brian this evening.
- Going to do a 50/50 for the Novice Rep game this weekend.
 
Sponsorship
- Bob McEachren still owes $250 for Juvenile sponsorship but has paid for the Silver stick registration for them. Checking into what happened.

- All tournaments done for the year.
 
Registration
- Form for the upcoming year shown to the board.
New Business
 
Banquet – February 28th is the planning meeting at Tim Hamilton’s new office.
 
Bothwell/Westlorne amalgamation. Cindy is going to get in touch with Westlorne after their meeting and see where they stand.
